Another Sign Of Decline

NEW YORK (AP) — The nation's largest public school system will observe the two most important Muslim holidays starting next fall, a policy change hailed Wednesday by Islamic leaders in New York City.
Under the new policy, the city's 1.1 million-pupil public school system will close on Sept. 24 for Eid al-Adha, which is also known as the Festival of Sacrifice. The holiday of Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, will be observed during summer school in 2016.
"Hundreds of thousands of Muslim families will no longer have to choose between honoring the most sacred days on their calendar or attending school," Mayor Bill de Blasio said in his announcement.
Muslim leaders welcomed the announcement

OK, So what about our Jewish Friends, Native American, and all the others. ??? Will this piss off anyone else??? Tell that Mayor to pack his bags and go live over in the sand box...Oh what an Idiot.

Stay Vigilant my friends time is running out. If we elect a Muslim President I'm head to CANADA. Oh wait we did, Oh Canada her we come.

we are Eastern Orthodox Christians. it has always been policy that our kids can take holy days off and teachers are required to give them assignments ahead so they have their homework ready when they get back. sometimes it is only a matter of a few hours in the morning to attend church service.
why should moslems get the entire system to shut down for what are a very small percentage of the student population? why the special privilege?
we are digging our own graves and too stupid to see. probably too busy staring at TV screens.if deblasio thinks he will be spared when the moslems take over he is the blindest of all.
it is as though the pols have never had any experience of reality.

Deb, Thanks for the reply. i understand our country was built on the blood, sweat, and tears of our Fore Fathers & Mothers, but I never heard of any of them coming here and making demands like this. I am of Norwegian and Irish decent, I don't believe any of my descendents told a community our children need this dates off from work or school due to our religion. If they build their house's of worship fine not an issue, But we have folks running around saying we need to separate church and state, The Muslim's want their children to have off from school, why are we not hearing the anti-religion folks speaking up about this.??
