Our Small Garden

We planted sun flowers, tomatoes and two different types of flowers on June 1st. The last two photos are from yesterday. Today we replanted the sun flowers next to the shed. Not sure if they will grow futher. Hug a hole added planting soil and miracle grow.

I think next year we will try planting a bigger garden. Thinking of adding hanging planters for the tomatoes. I think this winter I will do more research on planting boxes or raised beds.

That is just cool, Rob. Any time a person can grow any food is a good thing. And my gosh, how that boy has grown!!

By growing our own food we can control what chemicals are in the soil. Yes the grandson is growing too. Starts school full time daily in Sept. I wish we had access to more land. We could go crazy.

Sammy, mom, and grandma check on his plants several times a day. Always making sure the soil stays damp.

For myself, it's always good to see people trying to grow something that they can eat. We just never know what year it will be that we MUST grow a garden to supplement what we eat. It does take practice to understand how to be successful growing vegetables, even container gardening teaches us a lot. Sammy is just to cool!

Thanks Mike for your comments. Sam started his sun flower seed in school. It died off before we could get it planted so we ran down to the store bought more seeds and started all over.
