Change In The Seasons.

Ok you sport nuts yes football has started, yes baseball is coming to an end, BUT that's not what I'm talking about. Fall is fast approaching. That means its time to change our way of thinking and prepping. As of last night I started taking my vitamins again. Build up now instead of waiting until I'm sick. Why you may ask?? our temps are changing. Long range, over the next ten days has our temps below 80. Some day time highs in the upper 60's.

Our meal planning is also changing. We will grill less, grilling keeps the house cool. No need now. My wife and I have been talking of more baked foods, meat loaf, chicken, ribs, chili, etc. Less burgers, hot dog, brats, etc on the grill, but indoors

Planning on more soups, Tomato is a family favorite. Chicken noodle is a close second. I even think my wife may have plans for some fresh baked goods. bread, rolls, cakes etc. I know I have been drinking more coffee, when I feel cold. The wife like hot tea, and of course we all love hot cocoa. Talking about getting a large crock pot. Our at home family is shrinking again down to only 4 in the next 10 days. Oldest son moving and his pup will be gone too.

Our garden was a bust this year. we have only one tomato. cherry size. The plants are starting to die. What happened?? Well over watering, not the right soil mix for one. The flowers we planted did great. The sun flowers are tall, and the seed pods, if that's what they are call are sprouting. I replanted these in the direct sunshine next to the shed We planted way too late. June 1st.

Next spring I can see us starting seeds early, indoors. Thinking about adding potatoes into the mix. Experiment as you go.

Well I will close this post. I see one of our friends as limited her followers to by invite only. Liberals must have pissed her off, once again.  Her link

Always good to plan ahead. Don't forget to buy some rice. Added to Tomato or Chicken Noodle soup bulks them up and makes them filling for next to nothing!

We buy rice all the time. My wife only wants the instant rice, while I think we would do better with the normal long grain rice.
