I was a kid on Long Island when they broke ground on the WTC. I watched it go up on the evening news.
The Coast Guard's Telephone Technician school was on Governor's Island; a short ferry ride from both the Statue of Liberty and the WTC. The Twin Towers served as the backdrop for the photo taken when I graduated from that school in 1980. The upper stories of the towers were still being completed at that time.
My dad worked on the 91st floor of the WTC, and was in the building when the first attempt was made to bomb the building. He had to evacuate the building via the stairs that day... all 91 flights of them... He retired soon after.
My cousin's friend is a New York City firefighter. He's still alive today because he swapped shifts with a coworker on 9/11. The coworker died that day in the towers... Imagine the survivor's agony...
The CO of my last command in the Coast Guard lost his brother in the towers on 9/11. Nearly everyone I know either lost someone on 9/11, or knew someone who did.
The current crop of public school victims will be voting for President for the first time in 2020. They hadn't been born yet on 9/11. They've been told that somehow we deserved what we got that day. As for me, all the images of 9/11 are burned into my soul, never to be forgotten...
I was on my way to work that morning. We spent all day watching TV Our computer system didn't print out any orders that day. Everyone was watching TV. I did not know anyone who died that day. All of my friends served in the military got out before 9-11. One friend almost had to say on, but his retirement papers had already by signed off, and was not able to stay if he wanted to MCOP US Navy
I also would have been stop-lossed, but my retirement papers were already approved as well. If the gears hadn't already started turning for my RELAD, I would have chosen to stay in...

Amen.
Amen. Like the meme that I've seen, "I learned everything that I needed to know about muslims in five minutes on 9/11/ 2001."
Hope your feeling better
I more I have read about their religion history, the more i understand that they do hate and want to kill all none believers.
I think it's hard for us to believe the level of hatred they have for us, but to pretend otherwise is dangerous.
