Shortage?? What Shortage???

I know that there is reports of wide spread shortages of different items at store around the country. Here in my hometown, we have two stores to buy food and dry goods. Dollar General, and Marketplace Foods.

DG is a national chain, while Marketplace foods is a family owned group of 4 stores. Cokato, Annandale, (North of Cokato) St Micheal, and in Buffalo a Cub Foods. Cub is a large chain, but its also a franchise. Of course we have 3 Walmart's all within a 20 to 30 min drive. Our local stores are within a 10 to 15 min walk, depending on weather. Being on a fixed income, paid once a month, and assistance with food purchase again once a month. We buy cretin items at DG. because the price is lower vs the Market. DG has no fresh meat or produce. Yesterday while at the Market I looked for HS, but I don't know if they even sell it. Plenty of the basics, no shortages. DG is a small store they turn over products fast so they have days where items are low, sold out, or full shelf's. DG gets resupplied every 3 days i think. Most name brands are stocked by the brand..Coke, Pepsi, Pan O Gold bakery does all the bread, and buns. Market gets delivers twice a week, again some vendors stock the shelf's.

Marketplace does have a large storeroom in back that they can stock up on some items. They do have another store about 20 miles away and can transfer stuff between stores. They also do HOT BUYS. they buy multiple pallets of items to get a low price for all 4 of their stores. Youngest son worked there so I remember these things. in the fall they buy a lot of charcoal for grilling next summer.

Ok so today we went to Walmart in Buffalo MN, our regular store. I looked for hand sanitizer did see any...But I didn't look that hard. Looks like the hand soap pumps are selling a little better, The T.P was down, but its also saturday and most folks shop on Saturday, still TP on the shelf.. The gallon bottles of bleach was low, but still plenty on the shelf.   2% milk was low, but its saturday. Plenty bread, eggs, meats etc. No worries about shortages. The only sign I saw posted of a shortage was propane bottles.  No worries for us as we have two gas stations that sell bulf propane to fill your 20 gallon or higher propane.

Well my friends that all I have from here. No shortages by us. Tomorrow temps are around 60, going to talk a walk and stock up and some more food itmes I missed getting at WM.

Stay Safe..Stay Alert..........

Oh an old guy in a wheel chair on oxygen told my son who sneezed stay home don't get us sick. Allergy's I told him. He backed off fast...Liberal that's for sure.

The only shortages that I see locally are those items that Walmart simply isn't keeping stocked decently, and they can be ANYTHING, not just emergency items.
