I highly recommend visiting Pearl Harbor, if you get the change (and haven't already). It really brings the stories home, and talking to the survivors there is humbling, to say the least.

I had the chance 4 different times to visit Pearl. 1970, 1975, 1977, 1978 and never made it. 70 &75 was family vacation, parents didn't want to go. I was too young to go by myself, 10 & 15. The other two times was while I was in Navy JROTC. Navy family cruise, my parents couldn't get me back home if I went. Airline employees and family's flew stand by. It was during Easter break. All flights full.

Thanks Mom, I wish we, students, would have filmed or video taped the the talks our class had with LCDR Johnson. Living history. LCDR was an enlisted sailor at the time of the attack and worked his way up to LCDR. Mustang Officer?? He had an impact on so many of us.
