Making Changes...

As you can see I am making changes to my blog. I'm going to stay away from politics. Did you know that since I stopped talking about our new leadership, my blog bullies have dropped off. I think its best to go into Rural Stealth Mode. Why you may ask??? Because we back woods folks are fools and we don't know any better, then them smart city folk.

Yesterday I was Stressed out to the max., still waiting for word on my FIL's passing, no news is good news, and on top of that I did the taxes. All wrapped up and filed electrically. That only took 4 times to send, get rejected, and finally found out I had one number wrong on a SS#.  One number...!!!

I'm starting to plan of what needs to be done around the place. 11 of 12 windows need replacement or I could go for all of them. Painting the whole inside, adding major storage space to the kitchen, re tile the kitchen floor. Old flooring is not glued down just rolled out and cut to fit, so when we moved the Fridge it ripped  in 2 spots. Stove/Oven is shot. Oven doesn't work. The whole north side of our place needs a power wash as it has green mold streaks from our wet year last year. Fix the shed so I van have a place to hif, I mean get away from it all..

Thought about traveling to Fla to see the oldest bring the whole family. Then I thought I can bring my son up here for a week and send him back with some cash and still save money.  Use some money to repair things with the car.

The list is long but the money is short. Can I stop adulating now.  Snow is teasing us, snows enouhj just to use the wipers and its done.

Well my friends time to close, Stay Safe...The Liberal Zombies are lose.   Rob.

I have to agree with you about the topic of politics. The divide is getting way too huge and the belligerence is getting out of control. I currently have a couple of family members really mad at me because of whom they think I voted for - but I never told them that so it's a real mess in terms of assumptions and misunderstanding.

I've come to the conclusion that way too many people look to politics to save our nation. But politics seems to simply be a grander version of King of the Hill than we used to play as kids. Too many folks are simply against the other side, not for solving problems. "United we stand, divided we fall" is so true and we are divided beyond repair I think. The best difference I can make is with the way I live my own life.

Thanks for stopping by, and you are so right. You can only take some much before someone snaps, and it won't be a Conservative to fire the first shot...

Well the way I see it, its your blog, we still live in a free country, you should write what you want. With that said, I can also understand why you want to change things up. Conservatives such as ourselves can't say anything without getting bashed these days... perhaps you can put up comments moderation for a while..
I absolutely blame the last administration for the massive divide in this country right now. The community organizer did anything but organize the community. One of my best friends is Spanish and her entire extended family has written her off for voting for Trump. They have verbally abused her to the point of where she deleted them off of her facebook. Its just really sad how the other side has reacted to all of this, and in the end I think its only going to burn them in the rear end, the more they show how childish they are the better the chance for Trump getting reelected.

The more reactions I see, the more I wonder what the hell kind of drugs they take. Could you or Senior see this happening back during WW Two??. Over even back when Uncle Ronnie was President?? Its funny to see Obama still shot off his mouth after he is out of office...Its easier to just shut up then to keep fighting with the stupidity, with my blog.

I like the new header, which could have been located up here. I'll assume it's more likely in your neck of the woods, but what do I know? I'm just an ol' country boy. You discuss whatever you want, and I'll keep reading. No worries.

Hey, Rob, first off... your FIL, your wife, you & the family are in my thoughts and prayers!

Write whatever you feel like. Your blog - you can always delete the idiots comments or set up so they have to get approval before posting. You can't teach stupid. Nor can you change their minds. Their life experiences are only what can change it and some never see beyond their own eyes or venture beyond their safe space.

Sorry about the snow. I think it is tears from CA and the left coast. The county here has been hit pretty hard and have lost structures because of it. I think they are trying to punish us for being a conservative state. ;^)

I'd replace all the windows at once. Don't piecemeal it since you never know if you can get a matching window later. And I like your idea of tile. Nice to keep clean.

We once got a new stove/oven + hood off craigslist when we were in CA. Some people moved into a house and remodeled right away. About 1/2 cost of a new one. Another options is to see if there are any used appliance/second hand stores that sell used ones but with a warranty. There are a few down in the big cities that are like that so I'm sure you may have some stores like that, too, near you.

Glad you have a shop now. Put a nice shop stove in it. Then get a camp coffee pot to set on top ... then you're set for some 'thinkin' time. ;^)

Thanks Padre. I learned many moons ago, if big gray bear don't roar, no one notices. I pick and choose my battles. How do I know it works?? Married 30 years...Like Teddy says "Speak Softly, and Carry A Big Stick"....

Hobo, If I do all the widows its close to $1,500.00 I do know someone who could give me a break on Labor, undecided as of yet. The kitchen floor does get cold. I could get some loop carpet?? and it would be warmer. Our mobile home is rent to own, I don't think I want to put too much money into it if they decided to pull the plug. Another story for another time. I think we only have about 18 months left until pay off.

Prayers for FIL - and you are married to a good women. (Or you do all the cooking.) I learned to cook what we need in an electric fry pan, microwave, crock-pot and toaster oven during an 11 day early spring power outage a few years ago. (Had to use what the generator could handle.) The Mother Board died in my range last spring. I would like a gas one this time (can run without power), but need to extend propane line from across the house to kitchen. No need to get a range until that is in. I know if I get a used electric the gas one will NEVER come. So - I have been cooking like that since last spring. Gotta say I miss the big oven and spaghetti noodles are WAY to easy to cook over in the microwave! :-) Eventually the "line putter inners" may get tired of the limited menu..... Redder

Redder, I dislike electric stoves, ovens, dryers, hot water heaters...etc. takes way to long to do anything. We are hooked up to natural gas. We have had propane in a house before. Things have changed the last 24 hrs, the question is to me any way, is stay and put money into our place or move to a real home..early stages as of now.

You seem to have big problems. Why are you living in a mobile home and not in a real house or flat? Maybe you can get some financial help from your children or family or bank. Hope you will get out of all this mess.
Best wishes Lisa

Lisa, thanks for stopping by. I don't have big problems at all. My children do help. My family has helped in the past. I am on disability, a fixed income. I never borrow money from a bank. My debt is zero. Just daily experiences. My mobile home is old, but Its close to being paid off. I am happy with my home. I am at peace with my life.
