and I could be done with CAP. Our unit commander has been informed that I was talking about him behind his back. Yes I admit it. I have no confidence in his leadership abilities. Several others also have the same feelings as myself.
I have approached a former CAP member and squadron commander seeking guidance. I have asked about starting another unit, and was turned down, for fear of loss of membership in my current unit. I get along with 99.9 % of the folks I meet. There are those in CAP that think they are better then others. I saw a group commander have a shit fit, because our cadets didn't know who he was and didn't salute him.
If I walk away from CAP both my boys have said they would follow me. A couple of others have commented they too would leave CAP also.
I am now awaiting my fate. I still may try and start another unit, be it in CAP or another group.

It sounds like it may be a good thing if you're asked to move on. The current leader needs to be by himself. Start your own group and be happy! :-)
Mike our unit commander is so out of touch. he has had marriage issues with the wife, and divorced Was beaten up and dragged down a flight of stairs. Took anger management classes that took him away from CAP for 6 weeks. Has a new girl friend. That's just on his personnel level. Oh I forgot broke some ribs removing his lawn mower from his truck.
So he missed 6 weeks of CAP, missed more time with his ribs. We had our annual fund raiser in June didn't attend. If he feels like not being around he calls another member to take over. This idiot in turn also has lost interest in CAP and his leadership obligations.
We also have a women who is running the cadet side like it her own little unit. Doesn't associate with other senior members unless she needs to. A little dictator.
You can't walk up to any of these folks and say get your crap together. Oh it been real fun. We also have had paperwork not get to National Headquarters for membership, sent in two months ago. and important documents to Wing HQ either.
But I'm the bad guy because I called out the Commander in a public forum without naming names.
