Well If your a regular reader of my blog, you are aware of my issues with my squadron commander. Well I have resigned all my staff positions with the squadron. I can not follow the leadership of any member of CAP when they themselves don't care about leading.
He was made aware of the displeasure of his leadership skills by several others, he basically did nothing to change. One member stepped up to be second in command, but it will still be 2 years before he takes over 100%. So for now I am a member of CAP without a squadron. That will change after the 1st of the year. I will transfer to another unit, as will my two sons.
The new Deputy Commander wanted me to stay, take a demotion because I called out the Squadron Commander in a public forum. My reply was I'm not taking a demotion, when I'm 18 months away from Captain. His reply was he won't promote you. Just keep your head down, a low profile, and in a few years promote. The new DSC didn't want me to leave, good hard worker. He said.
I even offered to raise red flags over the lack of leadership. That brought a cold shoulder. I was threaten with a forced removal from CAP too. Ok I can see if we are regular, reserve, or National Guard, but we are civilian volunteers. We handle no classified material, etc. We need to be finger printed to make sure we have no felony's, and not a predator.
So much for freedom of speech. I understand a fine gray line. I had pointed out to several senior members that attendance was dropping due to the current commander. Too many turned a blind eye.
Oh well that squadron lose, another one gain. I did learn to keep my options to myself.
The weather is still uncertain here. Just awaiting that 2 foot of snow dump...LOL
Stay Alert, warm, and safe....Rob

Can you get into another group or start your own?
I can transfer to another unit. I would like to start a new unit. Starting a new unit can be as hard getting approval for as Trump has with Congress
