This came out this afternoon..
BREAKING:
a Winter Storm Watch has just been issued for Tuesday night and
Wednesday morning in the blue shaded area. 6 or more inches and blowing
snow are possible in the watch area.
Holiday travel could be significantly impacted!
This also puts me on alert as far as having to go rescue any of my family if driving becomes hairy. This will also put put the National Guard on alert, because as we all know folks won't be ready to drive in 6 inches of snow let alone a dusting.
Gee I guess my timing was good for stocking up on canned goods as I posted in my blog entry.
Stay Warm. Alert. I will post as the week rolls along.

Our forecast was for clouds. Naturally, we got 6" of snow, along with the requisite number of pile-ups, medevacs, and, sadly, a fatality. It should down the road out of Anchorage (yeah, there's only one road in/out of that city with its 300,000+ population) for nearly six hours.
I just watched a documentary on the blizzard of '49 that crippled Wyoming and the plains from January thru April. I will never complain about snow again.
We are going from zero snow, to way too much. Could total be 15 ". While everyone is now hitting the stores. We are all set. Only thing I have left to do is find my other snow shovel. I think its burred in the shed. I did leave to our good dirt shovel for the end of the drive.
Parking the car tomorrow afternoon. It don't move until Monday, or shovel the drive. No way in the world am I getting on the roads to go shopping with all the other nuts.
