Some folks don't understand how important weather is to everything we do in our lives. I'm not talking about what to wear, to go to work, school, shopping. No its much more important then that. This time of year the farmers and ranchers are planning on when to plant seeds to grow food for all of us and themselves. Then you have the planning going on for raising cattle, pigs, chickens etc.
You just can't start seeds outside in cold weather, you don't want chicks, or piglets running through the snow. Veterinarians need to check on all the animals to make sure that all are healthy. Shots given to prevent virus from spreading. They have to make sure all the female animals are doing good. Its just like human mothers going to see your Dr. To make sure the mom is healthly and the babies too.
Spring is the sure sign that the battle between winter and summer is over, warmer temps will soon be here. Just as in Fall is the battle between summer and winter, telling us the growing seasons are done, time to get ready for the cold and snow of winter.
We just had what I hope is our last arctic cold snap for this winter. We all made it through.

I hope the farmers and ranchers have a better year.
I do too...Our AG Co-op has already received rail cars loaded with fertilizer. 6 so far over the last two weeks
