Still Playing The Game

We are still playing the Stay At Home game. The interesting part is the number of folks that are out and about has increased greatly. MN schools are done for this school year. The big question is what happens in Sept.?? The wife and I think this no face to face for school will continue.

A cashier at our Market gives us a bad time about being in the store daily. Well, how else are you going to find items that have been out of stock?? We have been able to triple the amount of stores we have on hand at any given time. Oh you read right. Our chest freezer is full, the top freezer on the fridge is full.

Yesterday we had to travel to south metro, down by Vicki place. The wife had to have a virus test. She came out of the clinic looking like someone had stuck a long swab up her nose...Oh wait they did. Why did she have to have this done, and why did we have to drive over an hr away?? The clinic group only does this test at 4 locations, the hr drive was the closet one to us.

Well the Mrs has a kidney stone. So big that tomorrow morning is is having it removed at the hospital in Buffalo. They call it emergency surgery so she can get it done. She has had these before, but she still is very nervous about it.  So anyway yesterday while we had time to kill, we stopped at the local Cub Foods looking for meat. They had a buy one get one free sale. $45.00 in free meat.

After she was done we hit up the local WM, and picked up some canned goods and such. When we shop its the need one buy two, for us....4 cans tuna fish, 2 cans chicken, ribs 2, pork roast 2, bulk hamburger 2 10 lb tubes, hamburger patties 2 bags of 12. Chicken drumsticks 2 bags, chicken thighs 2 bags. Chicken breasts 1 8 lb 1 3 lb bags.

We still have a stash of TP, I know when the stores here get it in. So getting some is never a problem. I am so grateful for all that I have learned from so many over the years. Even the wife has come onboard with our shopping habits. We walk into the market the other day, very little fresh meat. She was so happy with what we have at home.

Well, I'm going to stop this post for now. We have an early day tomorrow.  I will update everyone on the Mrs and other good family news then.
Stay Safe, Stay Well...

It sure makes life easier when the pantry and freezers are full!! Prayers for a good outcome for your wife tomorrow, my friend. Take care.

I'd love to have a freezer, but don't have a generator, so have no desire to put the cart before the horse.

Hope all goes/went well with the kidney stone removal! My sweetheart had that problem last fall -- he was in agony before the stone was removed!

I brought a third freezer on line yesterday. It sucks to have to pay the electric bill for this stuff, but meat is running short at the markets, and I don't want to be the last one standing when the music stops. Yeah, I'm putting a lot of faith in the grid staying up, but what can I do? I have a whole-house generator that runs on natural gas, and a couple of roll-arounds that I can press into service if needed. We can only do what we can do.

Kidney stones... Yeow! Good luck to the Missus...

It went well. My wife has a long history of stones. Plus her sister too.
