The topic of needing a hobby came up from my friend Vicki. Well I did have several. I used
to build model airliners. But after I got married that went away. Money
needed for diapers and milk. Any good hobby costs money. Funny how that
works. I got back into CAP for something to do even once a week, but
again that costs money.
I
did renew for a 3rd year, but it costs money for gas to drive to St.
Cloud and back. I haven't been there since the first part of Nov. We
meet on Monday nights, but tonight the adults don't have to attend,
because the kids have P.T. I will go back on the first meeting in Dec. I
just need to put more money aside for gas all month. We try and do all our shopping in two days a month, it saves on gas. if the kids want to go anyplace they know its gas for the car and a can of diet pop, or water for me.
With
youngest daughter getting sick and having to run to the Dr. I passed on
CAP last week. I have a ton of reading I can do for CAP, but the
grandson seems to want my attention when I want to do CAP stuff, or online reading, watching movies, etc. I don't
have a room to go and lock the door. We have a 3 br mobile. Wife and
youngest in one, oldest daughter and grandson in #2, and that leaves
youngest son a room to himself. When he don't work he is in his room
watching movies or gaming. So I spend all my time in the living room.
that is my bedroom, study etc. The oldest daughter and grandson are out
here watching tv. A lot of Disney Jr for Sammy. Oh goodie, goodie.
I
keep talking about turning the shed into a hide out for me. Its big
enough. Built of wood. BUT, there is that issue of money for insulation,
and plywood walls. No heater, no power, but I could run a extension
cord out there. I would need to find a small wood stove or propane
heater. I was talking with my oldest son about it. He was surprised that
I had a plan. He said you have put a lot of thought into it. Oh yes I
have. I can move my desk out there or build one. I picked up a jig saw, miter saw, router, and a sander from my neighbor. For that project and some indoor during the winter work.
I could turn the shed into a wood shop for indoor projects then use it to hang out in. But I couldn't have my laptop out there until I'm done working too much dust. I have spotted wood from one of the machine shops siting around for anyone to pick up. but by the time I can get my son to help its gone.
I just need to work a better plan or something. Any way. all our snow is gone again temps around 33 or so just enough to melt.
Any way that's about it for now. have a good week all. Stay safe and Dry.......Rob

It's better to have a plan and little cash, than the other way around. Keeps a man focused, don'tcha know.
yea moe, the garage took payments. two of my kids paid for it. something i didn;t want to ask them to do.
Always have a plan or two, Most days I just want to get away for everyone. i have to go to Menards this weekend, so I will price out cheap wood even dis guarded sizes, of wood. my goal is to get it done as a winter projet, along with some shelving work inside.
How boring you complain all day long , ask Trump he will send you the money you need. You voted for him.

nothing like a man with a plan... My dad among other things was a woodworker, many years back he made and repaired furniture, then turned to woodcarving..We got most of those carving tools and I have been thinking about teaching myself..
Got your Thanksgiving message over at my blog...We had a good day, and hope yours was as well..
Thanks Mom. I enjoy working with my hands. I loved shop class in school.
