There was a question of enough school credits to graduate from high school while we lived in Fla. Scott went to Ridgewater College in Hutchinson, MN to get his GED. He was told he needed to lose some weight, which he did by working out at a local gym. He has been supported by his efforts by his family and some friends who also are in the MN Guard.
Scott leaves on Oct 8th and will report to Ft Benning GA. For basic training, and then will continue to School to learn how to work on several armored vehicles, including the Abrams Tank.. Scott will be gone from Mn for 26 weeks. In the mean time Scott will go through some training here in MN at Camp Ripley in Northern MN. He will attend 3 duty weekends. Sort of a pre basic training.

Outstanding!! You have every right to be proud of this young man.
I can understand your pride. Good looking kid. While I sincerely hope he never has to employ the combat skills he learns at Benning, I'm glad to see the younger generation stepping up to the plate for the rest of us.
I'm proud of him too. Hope this is just the beginning of a successful and prosperous career. Thank God the US still has men who are willing to serve their country and her people. We are grateful.
Am so proud I could burst...
Garry thanks for stopping by. His older brother tried to enlist, but things didn't work out. I tried twice but again its didn't work out. Therefor my being in CAP
Thanks Gorges, So many friends have told me the same.
Peg thanks for stopping by. There are so many today that are joining, but keep it low key. I personally know about a dozen kids who have decided to join our military the last couple of years. Even those who are now Officers
Congratulations Scott. Make the best of it as it will lead to a better life in your future.
Congratulations to you and your family and give your young man a thumbs up! From a long time lurker and fellow Minnesotan.
Thanks Mike we are very proud of him. Both Scott and his younger sister Hannah, (our youngest kids) have found themselves a great group of friends who are helping them make the right choices in life. They know they can come to mom and dad at ant time or the older kids. Their friends have good values as they too are in the Guard.
Nylon12 Thanks for stopping by. fellow MN are always welcome
Absolutely outstanding! Bravo Zulu to the young man, and may God bless him as he takes on this new challenge.
Thank you Padre. The wife and I think we have done a good job raising our kids. The outpouring of support has been amazing.
Congratulations and thank you! And as Rev Paul said... may God bless him!
Thanks Hobo. I'm proud of all my kids
