I know many of you remember the radio broadcasts of Paul Harvey, and his "The Rest Of The Story".. Well I'm going to use that as the title to my van update.Jordon our oldest uses our van to get to work at his job with a stone company. He helps install stone counter tops etc. Jordon has only worked for them for a month. Happy as a clam burried in warm sand.
He gets to work this past last Thursday morning. one of the owners tells Jordon we need to get gong to our install today. In the rush to get everything loaded and ready in the company truck. He doesn't grab his back pack or lunch box. They get to the job site, finished up the job and return back to the shop. When they pull into the lot Jordon notices our van is missing. He asks in the office, if someone had to move the car..."NO, WHY" Jordon says oh crap my car was stolen. Everyone goes outside to check their cars.
Jordon puts his keys into his back pack, so he doesn't lose them at a job site. Well the car thief shows up, try all the cars, and our van is unlocked. Sees the back back finds the keys and is gone. So the Wright County Sheriff Deputy shows up takes the report and finds out who else is missing items.
Fast forward to early Friday morning, yesterday, I get up at like 130 am get a drink of water, etc. I check my cell phone, see a number I don't know and a voice mail. Its a SGT with the Sheriff Dept. I call him back we talk a bit and he says I tried to call Jordon but his phone number must be wrong. We have our car recovered. Ok, sir he is here but a sleep. I wake Jordon up, he talks to the SGT. and he tells me what is going on.
Well, our thief was caught with our car sitting in a city park, after hours. The local PD comes across him, makes contact, runs the plate it come up stolen. Bang his ass get nailed for auto thief. Stupid has had the car about 12 hours. He gets arrested, find out later he is a know frequent flyer with L.E.
so our van gets towed to impound lot.
Jordon goes yesterday afternoon, get pick up our car. He had to pay $170.00 to the tow company. Well thats is so nice of them. Mr wonderful has removed the front plate. So that's $16.00 to get different plates. We get those after the car is home. Jordon looks in our car, all kinds of stuff, that is not ours, tools, and other things inside The glove box had been gone through. I didn't know the cars title was inside..ops. Its in Jordon's name but the jerk has put my name on the title to make it look like I had signed it over a month ago.
Trues out some other paperwork was in the glove box too. Well we have have removed all paperwork except for ownership.
I call my youngest daughter tell her to clean out the glove box on her car of everything but ownership she does. Now we all have to call our banks and tell them hey we may be victims of ID thief. I have a CAP decal sticker on the back window drivers side. Someone tried to remove it, but couldn't. So they put another sticker over the top of that. I told Jordon, to tell the Sheriff about the decal. Its to show pride I have in CAP. the other car my youngest has also has one. First thing I do yesterday is remove the other sticker. Bitch hide that I don't think so.
So we have our car/ van back. New plates go on today. Sometime will be spent cleaning the car inside and out. The thief clean out papers and etc inside, removed some items that we don't have anymore. one large back pack, one lunch box, with lunch inside a a few small CAP clothing items, no value to anyone. We had tools that didn't belong to us. Now in custody of the local PD near St. Cloud. Mr wonderful is a white male, 31. With the help of friends in L.E. we found his photo in the Benson County Jail web site. Oh he had drugs on his person. Long line of trouble with this one. Not surprised
So our stress levels are coming down, some. So many lessons learned on our end. I fear no lessons learned on the thief's end. Through out this adventure, the LEO'S acted like true pro's al being very kind to us. Oh we have Jordon's key ring back too.
Thank you for all your kind words and prayers
Stay Safe All....Rob

Glad for you that it is mostly over and some lessons learned.
So, what's next on your day planner? ;^)
Such actions demand the same justice once reserved for horse thieves.
Indeed. A few public hangings will put a dent in stuff like this...
Very glad it's resolved in your favor.

Its just sad to see someone take the wrong turn in life
