What ever happened to I don't like my job, I'll look elsewhere??? These idiots at Amazon are not happy with pay of $15.00 hr. Plus they say Amazon works them too hard. Boo who. Find another job. I've done what they are doing. I wish I would have been paid $15.00 I wasn't I did not like the job so I found one better.
Amazon warehouse workers in Minnesota are striking during one of the company’s biggest sales days of the year: Prime Day.
They’re demanding that the company ease productivity quotas, convert
more temporary workers to Amazon employees, and do more to address
on-the-job injuries.
Workers in Shakopee, Minnesota, which is about 25 miles
southwest of Minneapolis, are striking for six hours and holding an
afternoon rally outside Amazon’s warehouse on Monday, the first day of
Amazon’s two-day Prime discount extravaganza. The strike, which Bloomberg
reported last week, probably won’t have much of an impact on Amazon’s
business — it has more than 100 warehouses in the United States — but
it’s yet another example of both corporate and lower-level tech workers’
increased willingness to speak out against their employers. It also
indicates that Amazon’s promise last year to pay a $15 minimum wage is not enough to keep its workforce happy forever.
“These should be jobs that are safe, reliable, and that
people can depend on,” William Stolz, a striking worker at Amazon’s
Shakopee warehouse, told Recode. Stolz, 24, is a picker at the facility
and has worked there for two years. “It’s very mentally stressful; it’s
very physically stressful,” he said of the work.
Unhaapy Workers
Oh the labor unions are feeding these idits their kool-aid. Protest and they will make life better. You rock the boat too much and Amazon will reduce staffing and ship product to other locations. If not shut it down for good.
Stay Cool, or Dry depending on your location...

Companies will pay what the market requires. Any more and they'll do as you said or close their doors.
Amazon, and other companies, are moving more towards robots and automation to do the job that are currently being done in the warehouses by humans. Robots can be the "pickers" of the products off the shelves, box 'em up with precision. They don't get tired, call in sick or need lunch breaks. There are many stories about how Amazon treats workers poorly. I don't doubt that that occurs. But the striking isn't going to result in what the human workers want. They will eventually strike themselves out of work, only to be replaced by Bots. McDonald's is already doing this by replacing humans with order kiosks within their restaurants. In the longterm, it will be more economical for companies to employ robots than humans. Eh, just my 2 cents.
It just blows what little mind I have left. Its the same with the fast food folks. its called entry level
I agree. back in the 1960's/70's North Central Airlines in MSP had a parts train that went from the parts dept(Stores) and wound its way through the hanger bays.the mechanics would take the parts off they needed
Taco Bell in Hutchinson Mn has the kiosks, the problem is its right up at the ordering area. Gets to crowded fast. McDonald's in Litchfield has the kiosks. Amazon wants to train folks to go into IT. I would jump on that.
