Still The Biggest Secret In The AF

 Current Air Force ABU
New CAP Uniform ABU>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

MCCHORD FIELD, WA — Joint Base Lewis-McChord was forced into a lock down early this morning after a Civil Air Patrol (CAP) 1st Lt, wearing the new CAP ABU’s, was mistaken for being a Air Force officer while at the McChord Exchange.
“I feel sick,” said SrA Florencia Gonzalez, who was walking back from the BX to her brand new 2016 Dodge Charger when she saw the CAP officer. “I didn’t know he was CAP–I mean, don’t they wear those jungle uniforms from before I was born?”
Tears were seen forming in her eyes as she described in detail how she saluted and greeted him under the assumption of being an Air Force officer. CAP was just authorized to wear the ABU combination with modified rank insignia and black boots last month to be “distinguishable from a distance”, although that appears to be questionable at the moment. CAP was recently added under the Air Force Total Force six months ago as the USAF Auxiliary, hosting approximately 56,000 personnel.
“The sun was in my eyes and all I saw was the ABU pattern,” remarked TSgt Anthony Dozer, “when I get closer I saw his patches were all the wrong color but I just assumed he was a new medical officer. I tried to tell him his uniform was wrong but he just smiled at me and said this was the new uniform. As usual when speaking to medical officers, I left with more questions than answers.”
Security Forces later announced that up to a dozen Airmen may have been affected by the individual during his shopping spree of terror at the military clothing sales. Any Airman affected by the incident is encouraged to visit their local mental health counselor.  REALLY PTSD from CAP??

“I just don’t get it,” said Army Cpl. John Jones, whose Army unit was on the McChord Field when the lock down came. “Aren’t you guys on the same team? They’re dealing with your rules but aren’t even getting paid. We (the Army) don’t care when people wear our uniform since we’re still getting paid.” Cpl. Jones also remarked that how the Air Force treats their auxiliary feels like “segregation” from his point of view. Cpl. Jones was later seen eating alone between the junior enlisted and NCO tables as neither group wanted to be affiliated with the E-4 Jr. NCO.
An Air Force public affairs spokesperson has remarked that an investigating is being conducted to determine the CAP 1st Lt’s identity and what laws he has broken. A warning has been issued across the Air Force that other incidents may occur due to the June 15th ABU wear date and that all Airmen should remain vigilant.

On regarding the incident an AAFES representative had only this to say: “ABU sales are at the highest we’ve seen in the last 9 years due to CAP. Additionally, we’ve considered pressuring the Air Force to switch over to the new Army Scorpion uniform for additional profits.”
The Exchange and JBLM’s lock downs were lifted later this evening after determining the CAP 1st Lt went home after buying his new ABUs. An investigating is on-going.

Still The Biggest Secret In The AF. I was at Grand Forks AFB for encampment (1984) we had Olive Pickle color uniform then and I was saluted by the AF enlisted back then. We just saluted back.

Stay Alert, Everyone looks the same I guess....

Don't feel bad. Naval officers have been mistaken for airline pilots for years. :)
